Support for families in education Fee Structure_compressed

SEND, EHCP and DLA Support Fees

Clear, transparent packages designed around the level of support your family needs.

Some parents want a detailed review, clear recommendations and the documents needed to manage the next stage themselves. Others want continued practical support through school meetings, local-authority discussions, mediation or tribunal preparation.

For this reason, most School of Diversity services are offered through two straightforward options:

Preparation Support

We review the available information, identify the key issues and prepare the agreed documents, recommendations or action plan.

This is suitable for parents who feel confident managing later correspondence, meetings and procedural stages themselves.

Supported Casework

This includes the preparation service plus continued practical support through the next agreed stage.

Depending on the service, this may include:

  • correspondence preparation;
  • review of local-authority responses;
  • meeting preparation and attendance;
  • amendment discussions;
  • mediation preparation;
  • tribunal case-management support;
  • review of revised documents;
  • a defined period of continued guidance.

Before paid work begins, you will receive a written service schedule confirming exactly what is included.

Build Your Own Support Package

Your situation may not fit neatly within one standard package.

We can combine services such as:

  • SEND review and school-meeting attendance;
  • EHCP application and evidence preparation;
  • draft EHCP review and amendment-meeting support;
  • annual review and phase transfer;
  • refusal appeal preparation and managed casework;
  • DLA application and evidence organisation.

Where services are combined, the quotation will account for time saved through shared evidence review and reduced duplication.

Document Allowances

Each package will include an agreed document allowance.

A standard allowance may include:

  • up to five principal reports; or
  • up to 100 pages of relevant evidence.

Where significantly more evidence is involved, we will review the likely workload before confirming whether an additional fee applies.

Duplicate documents and irrelevant correspondence should be removed where possible.

Revisions and New Evidence

One agreed revision normally covers:

  • factual corrections;
  • reasonable wording changes;
  • clarification based on information already provided.

It does not automatically include:

  • a substantial change in the case;
  • several new professional reports;
  • a new local-authority decision;
  • major additional sections;
  • repeated rewriting after the agreed revision.

Any further work will be discussed before a charge is incurred.

Payment Options

Staged payments may be available for higher-value packages.

A typical arrangement may involve:

  • a deposit to secure the work;
  • a second payment when document review begins;
  • a final payment before completion or the next case stage.

For tribunal-related work, payments may be aligned with:

  1. appeal preparation and registration;
  2. evidence and local-authority response;
  3. case review and hearing preparation.

The payment schedule will be included in the client agreement.

Our Service Boundaries

School of Diversity provides:

  • practical SEND guidance;
  • evidence review;
  • document preparation;
  • parent advocacy support;
  • meeting preparation;
  • case organisation;
  • procedural support.

Unless expressly confirmed otherwise, we do not provide services as solicitors or barristers and do not provide regulated legal representation.

Where a case requires specialist legal advice, judicial review, discrimination litigation or another regulated service, we may recommend that the family obtains advice from an appropriately qualified professional.

Important Information About Outcomes

We cannot guarantee:

  • that an EHC needs assessment will be agreed;
  • that an EHCP will be issued;
  • that requested amendments will be accepted;
  • that a preferred placement will be named;
  • that an appeal will succeed;
  • that DLA will be awarded;
  • that a particular benefit rate will be awarded.

Our role is to help parents understand the process and present their child’s needs, evidence and requested support as clearly and thoroughly as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions About Fees

Do I Have to Choose the Supported Package?

No.

The preparation packages are designed to provide a complete piece of work that parents can use independently.

Can I Upgrade Later?

Where possible, yes.

If you purchase preparation support and later require continued casework, the amount already paid may be credited towards the supported package, subject to:

  • the upgrade being requested promptly;
  • the case remaining within the original scope;
  • no substantial duplication being required.
Will You Attend Meetings?

Meeting attendance is included only where it is clearly listed in the supported package or written quotation.

Will You Communicate With the Local Authority?

This depends on the package and the written authority provided by the parent.

Preparation-only packages normally provide parents with documents to send themselves.

Will You Manage Every Deadline?

Supported packages may include a case-deadline schedule for the agreed stages.

Parents remain responsible for:

  • forwarding all correspondence promptly;
  • checking emails and tribunal notices;
  • informing School of Diversity immediately of new directions or deadlines.
Are There Hidden Charges?

No additional charged work will be undertaken without prior discussion and agreement.

Are Payment Plans Available?

Staged payments may be available for higher-value packages.

Is Hearing Attendance Included?

Only where expressly stated in the written quotation.

Is VAT Included?

School of Diversity is not currently VAT registered. No VAT is added to the fees shown.

Find the Right Level of Support

You do not need to decide which package is right before contacting us.

During the free 20-minute consultation, we will discuss:

  • the stage you have reached;
  • the documents you hold;
  • the main difficulties;
  • any approaching deadline;
  • whether preparation support is sufficient;
  • whether supported casework would be more appropriate.

You will then receive a clearly defined recommendation and fee before paid work begins.
